UFI FILTERS: first plant inaugurated in Brazil.

Number of the Italian group’s plants worldwide rises to 14. 2017 turnover growth of 5%, to 436 million euros.

The UFI Filters Group, an Italian multinational headquartered in Nogarole Rocca, in the province of Verona, and among the world’s major producers of filters and filtration solutions, has inaugurated its first plant in Brazil in Jundiaí, in the state of S?o Paulo.

This brings the number of the Group’s plant to 14. The Group achieved a turnover of 436 million euros in 2017 (+5% on 2016), producing more than 70 million filters intended for the automotive sector?– including equipment for Formula 1 cars?– and beyond (agricultural machinery, marine engines, compressors, industrial and earth-moving machinery).

UFI Filters, guided by Mantuan entrepreneur Giorgio Girondi and employer of around 4,000, has plants in both Italy and beyond: the Czech Republic, Tunisia, China, India and Korea.

“The decision to launch Brazilian production in the pilot plant of Jundiaí, stated Group Chairman Giorgio Girondi, “is a response to the primary requirement of being close to carmakers’ factories for ‘just in time’ supply.”

Girondi went on: “In Jundiaí we will initially produce oil filters intended as equipment on the diesel engines made by General Motors in Brazil, but our plans also include the opening of a technological Research Centre and creation of a network of other plants to serve the entire Mercosur, the common market of South America.”

UFI Filters products are leaders in the area of original equipment (OEM) as well as possessing a significant market share in the Aftermarket (independent spare parts) thanks to the presence of the most important distributors in more than 70 countries worldwide in its supply chain, with more than 3,000 products in the catalogue, to ensure effective coverage of vehicles on the road.
